What specific areas of writing do you now understand better?
The specific areas that I understand in writing better would be is what a simile what conjections are.

 Which paper was most successful for you?  Why?
The most succesful paper for me was the summary paragraph for me. For me its so much easier to summarizing a paper a paper than descrabing or writing an argument paper. 

 What problems still persist in your writing? 
My problem would be being able to spell things correct and also putting the same words in my paper to many times that when you read my paper you keep rereading word over and over. 

What concepts or skills do you wish we spent more time on in class?
I wish we could have took more time on writing essays for me I have a hard time writting essays. I always have a hard time trying to put my eassays in the right order and make sure that they look just right,

 For you to become a better writer, what are the next steps?
The next steps for me is to keep practing on the areas in writng that I struggle with and to get better with them. Also to take the next writing in class to learn more information that will help me better my writing to.

How have you grown as a writer over the course of the term?
I feel that I have growned as a write and that I have new tools that I will take with me into my next writing class with me. Like if i were to write a arugment paper in I can go Opposing Viewpoints website and look up the topic that I want to do. I feel that this website really helped me with my argument paper and I got a lot of information and facts that were get to put into my agrument paper.

 What other insights, if any, can you share with me about writing? That I really have enjoyed writing and exploring new topics to write about. I have to say that writing is one of my favorite classes.

(Blog #18) What is the primary purpose of college?

What is the primary purpose of college. The primary purpose of college for me is that I can get a better job than those who don't have a college degree. Also I'm learning new things in my career that I didn't know before and taking general class like math and writting has help me learn new things that I didn't know how to do and if i didn't choose to go to college I would have know clue how to do write paper or do math that I need for my career or any job that I want to work at. Another primary purpose is that not only am I doing what I love but I'm meeting new friends in my classes. Also by getting good grades every term and being able to pass my classes is getting  me close to gradutaing from college which is a great feeling. Becasue a lot of people told me don't plan on going to college you won't make it and guess what I have proved them wrong but I'm not just going to college to prove them wrong but because going into Early Childhood Education and getting my two year degree is my passion and my primary purpose of college for me. Also another primary purpose of going to college is to show others with disability that even though you struggle that nothing is impossible if you follow your heart and dreams.

(Blog #17) How did your previous educational experience prepare you for college?

How did my previous educational experience prepare you for college? When I started 8th grade a lot of my teachers would tell me over and over that in 9th grade that my grades started counting and that college will look what your grades your got and if you got any tickets and stuff. Also in 10th grade a lot of my class start teaching us a information that would help us in college. In high school they had a lot of different colleges come and talk to students about how to apply for college and what kinds of things that they would look for to see if we would be able to qualify for a college that we want to go to. In my English class we had to learn how to write college paper and what kind of stuff that Writting teachers would be looing for in our papers and how they would grade papers. I was really hard worker and I got really good grades and tried to get on the honor roll each term because I knew that it would look good on my transcript for college. I also work my butt off to graduate from high school so that I could get into college a lot easier but it was also a big accomplishement for me to graduate from high school. Also my counslers at the high school would talk to me every month to see how I was doing in my classes and if I need any help with any of my classes.

(Blog #16) Defend, refute or qualify the following statement Downloading music or movies without the permission of the creators is morally and ethically wrong.

I think that you should have to pay for dowloading music or movies because the creator who made them is losing money and it took them a long time to come up with the ideas that they did for the music or movie. I think that if you ask their permssion to download their stuff that it would be okay if they said yes but to download something with out permission is wrong becasue a some people will download music or movies and then they will try to miss with the person hard work and stuff and make it as their own but by people having to buy the music and movies that uselly don't try to make the music or movies their own and stuff. A lot of the times we think we won't get caught by not asking the creators for permission to download their stuff but what can happpen is that they find out and then you have to pay a big huge fine and go to jail and what ever deviced you used they will probley take it way and you won't get it back. so it makes more sense just to ask the creators unsteady of going threw a big mess and stuff. I have notice that now days that creators are making it were you can't download their stuff without permission because their music or movies say copy right and then it won't uselly let you downloaded to you r computer or where ever kind of device your tryig to downloaded it to.

(blog #15) What should America's role be in the world?

What should America's role be it the world? I think that America's role should is to try to get our selfs out of debt to other countries and then try to stay out of debt. I think that we could start making some of the clothes and toys that other country's make and send to us. We as Americans could do some research and what we would need to do to have our own factorys that make stuff than having China and other places making our stuff. It would give the oppourtiny to poeple that have loosed their jobs and are looking for jobs a chance to work again and support their family. Another role that Americans could do is by having the whole Untied States to recycel it would help with the trash on the grounds and also lower the grabbed that was tooken to the dumps. It would also help many americans if they were struggle to get money then they would have the opportuintie to go and recycel popcans and stuff and get money back. Their are a lot of places that do really incourage people to recycle and if americans want to then it like 1 cents per a popcan so to them its not worth their time. The last we as Americans can do is find ways of not wasting so much food and stuff their are many people out thier that are hungry that could use that food to help them.

(Blog #14) No Unmarked Women

I agree that more women are under more scrutiny than men for how they look. I the reason that I agree that women are judge on what they wear is because we as women are suppose to look our best all the time. I don't think women should be judge on what they were because we don't know how they are feeling and whats happening in their life. I think if a women wants to wear sweats and a sweat shirt that she should be able to wear it in with out being judge. I don't think that women should have to always be dressed nice. Their are times when I feel like wearing something comfortable which is uselly a warm sweat shirt or T shirt, Sweats and nice comfortable shoes or just slippers and I don't think anyone should judge on what I want to wear just because I'm a women I think that I have ever right to wear what i want with out being judge. I think in some ways yes and some ways no. I think that a lot more women will wear what they feel is comfortable and stuff but their is other women at in the world that think that they have to dress nice everyday so that they don't get judge or so they look better than others. To me it just depends on what you think and this is my oppion I know that their is others who would not agree with me which is just fine.

(Blog #13) Argument Paper

I have a couple topics that i could do on my argument paper. The first topic that I could do my agrument paper on about why i don't think that pitbulls should be banned or killed, why we should lower gas prices, another one is why we should make food stores put gmo on their food labels. I'm more leaning toward Why we should not ban or kill pitbulls I think that I could get a lot of information about how pitbulls are not harmful unless you train them to be mean that they can be the most loving dogs but you have to train them to be loving and not to harm others. A lot of people are to quick to judge pitbulls and say that they are to dangerous and should be killed or banned. But if you look at the whole picture pitbulls will only be mean if you train them to be that way and what about other dogs they can be just as mean as pitbulls if you train them to be mean. So my piont is that if the pitbull is mean then you can blame the owner because they have taught them to be agressive. I have been around pitbulls that are the sweetest dogs. I think that people need to give pitbulls a chance. One reason that people think that pittbulls are so mean is because they are breed to fight other dogs but like i said before pitbulls are not mean unless you train them to be mean and aggressive towards people.

(Blog #12) This I Believe-Change

There is such much in this world that is change and a lot of us don't realized what has chagned either because we don't want to except the change because we don't do well with changing things up. But their is other people that do just find with change they may even enjoy changing things ever so often. For me I hate change because I get so comfortable with what I'm use to doing and I have a route but if I have to change my route or something then it takes me a long time to be able to get use to the change and somtimes I try to change back to my old routine but I have to realize that change can be a good things but I have to be the one willing to make the change and see what happens. If you don't like the chocie that you made then you can change that choice and try something new. A lot of times we can have good experinces from making changes to our life and we are happy with the change. One experinces that I had to deal with change was when I decided to move from Idaho which I had live there my whole life and then I was trying to decided if I want to move to another state and have to start all over with thing. I had to really think about it. I maked the change by moving from Idaho to Oregon and I have been greatful for makeing the decsion to change my life style and stuff.

(Blog #11) This I Believe- Forgiveness

I have seen so many people in my life that struggle with forgiving others for what they have done to them. I know that there are still people that have done me things to me that i still have not forgave them for what they have done. I think that the reason a lot of people have a hard time forgiving somone is either because they were a family member, best friend,or someone that you really care about has done something very hurtful to you adn you thought that they would have never done anything hurtful to you ever. I have had to realized that if I don't start on working on forgiving others that I will always regret that I never took the time to tell who every hurt me that I forgive them but that I would appericated that what mean thing that they did to me not to happen again. I know that there are other situations were you really struggle on forgivng the person because they did something really bad that you will never be able to forget what they did and don't know that you want to forgive them. I think the only thing you can do is take each day as it come and hope that someday you might be able to forgive the person but you have to feel ready to forgive the person becasue if your not ready to forgive for everything that they have done to you then you still have that weight of telling them that you forgive them.

(Blog #10) Pittbull

So I read an article about a man who strapped fireworks to a 3 year old pittbull and July fourth prank. The man had a pittbull and decide that it would be a funny prank to strap fireworks on all four legs of the pittbull. Then he pulled the dog out of the bed of a pick up truck and dump him in a alley. The dog had third degree burns on his chest, paws and rear legs. Someone found him in the alley and Indy the pittbull was tooken to the Westlake Village Animal Hospital. Some at the Hosptial gave him the name Indy becuse they had no idea what his name was and who is owner was at the time. The hospital had to do numberouse surgeries and skin grafts to save the pitbulls life. After Indy had finally recovery from his wounds he was able to be adopt by one of the works that work at the animal sheclter that had help Indy to recovery. Indy is doing so much better and he also made it on a the Ellen Degeneres show. Indy had a 1,200 people following his progress on facebook. I lot of people were suprise to see that with all that Indy went threw that he is still the sweetest pittbull. Also Indy is being trained to be a therapy to help other people when they have gone threw traumatizing things. Last thursday they caught the man that did this horrible thing to this poor sweet dog. He has been charged with felony animal cruetly over last years July prank. Police said a witness saw the man puul the dog out of the bed of a pickup and dump him in Van Nuys, Californa, allley also the man was caught on tape.

(Blog #9) Facebook in a Crowd

So I decide to write about Facebook in a Crowd and the reason I choose to write about this article unsteady of  What's the Matter with Kids These Days is becuse I can relate a lot easy with Facebook in a Crowd. I have a facebook and I have 626 friends on Facebook and I don't talk to all of them. I just know them but we have never hung out and stuff. If I were to only to have friends that  hang out with I probably would only have 50 friends on Facebook which is a big differents than 626. I like how the man in the article explains how he decide to invite all 700 of his friends on facebook to come to his party and 15 people said that they would come and 60 people said maybe and a few hundred of his friends said no and the others just ingore the request. But when the day of his party came only one person showed up and he didn't know her very well and they didn't talk for very long and then she left. He thought that other friends of his on facebook would come so he wait but time passed and no one else showed up. He had one more beer and it was really bittersweet just like the 700 friends that he had on Facebook. He realized that night that just because you have 700 friends on Facebook dosen't mean that they are all your friends and that facebook should not rule your life. Also be wise when you accepting friends on your Facebook and what kind of relationship do you have with them.

(Blog #8) Commons Errors and Language Problems to Avoid.

I have the  hardest time with spellig words correcltly and putting to many of the same word in a paper. Also a couple other place that I struggle in English is making sure that my papers sounds good and editing my papers. I have struggled in these ares since I was in High School but I can say that I have gotten better in some place of writting but there are still places that I really struggle in and I'm still working really hard to patice the areas that I struggle in. It might take me a long time to finally get really good at making sure that I don't have to may word that are the same thing over and over again. I know that it can get very boring to see the same word over and over. I think that some of the reason that I struggle in the areas of English is because it took me until 10th grade to finally start reading chapter books unsteady of picture books. I had an amazing English teacher who in High School help me really enjoy reading and writting papers and stuff. I wish that when I was young that there would have been someone like my English teacher in High School to help me to fall in love with reading and write paper because I feel like I would not have as many struggles in English as I do know as where if I would have start in grade school to love to read bigger books than the same picture book over and over again.

(Blog #7) "Literacy Behind Bars- Malcolm X"

  Malcom X was a militant black nationalist leader who was an advocate for Pan-Africans besides rising to global fame. (reading) I didn't know this but he changed his last name from little to X to represent his lost African tribal name. That is pretty cool for someone to do that and I have to say pretty impressive. As he spent some major time in prison he met a man by the name of "Bimni" and found that he was really impressed with this man and wanted to emulate him,but because he couldn't read and write he couldn't. As he was moved to a different prsion he was so frustrated with not being able to read or write that he asked for a dictionary and some tablets. He spent a whole day writing one page out of the dictionary. I can't imagine how stiff and painful his hand must have been. It is funny to hear that hte first thing he remembered what it looked like. It is funny to hear that the first thing he remembered was the word "Ardvark". He even remembered what it looked like and ate. After writing all of that I don't think I could remember much. My mind would be all jumbled up. Malcom became a very great reader and Malcom took his time and turned it into something very positive instead of negative even though he only went to 8th grade you would never have gussed that. He pretty much taught him self to read, write and spell. Prison enabled him to be able to study far more easily than attending college. Malcom became a great man and leader. Malcom was a great man. He turned his life around and spent all of his free time in prison studying and reading to become a great person and to be able to make some serious changes for when he got out of prsion. He wanted to his life to be different and to mean something. How impressive is that? His death was such a horrible event. He was murdered by political rivals on Feb.21,1965. At least he will be remembered for what he did.

(Blog #6) Ipod World: "The End Of Society"

I think that the author is trying to make a statement that alot of us are way involed with our electroincs than with what is happening around us. A lot of people have Ipods, Iphones, Cell phones, and computers. I know for me I am always on my computer or Laptop and it really bad because I have a hard time taking my eyes away from the screen to do something else for a bit that is more important than my ipod or computer. I love how the author said that at the end he lost his Ipod and realized that it was not the end of the world and that he didn't need an ipod for music that there is muisic all around us. If we just open our ears and look around us we can her birds chriping, construtions builders working, people talking or sing or hear a water fall. A lot of people don't realize that being on Electrioncs for so long can give you headches and make your eyes blood shot looking which can cause you to go blind or have to get glasses. I think that if we were to realize all the bad effects that electrions can to do to us phsyical and metal that a lot more people would try to not use electrions so much or stop using them.

(Blog #5) Why Don't We Complain?

I really like what William F. Buckley Jr. talks about how a lot of us get to scared or nerves to ask like a moive thearter if they can fix the movie screen because its to blurry and its hard to see it. The reason we are to nerves to go ask is because we don't want to make a fool or have them get mad at us. A lot of the time we think that other will go ask or complain but that doesn't always happpen because they could be nervoues to ask to. But if we take the courage and go ask or complain about something that is not right then others might get the hint hey that person complained or ask if they do something about the problem. I know that I get really shy and don't speak up because I think that someone will either ask the question that I am thinking about but that is impossible because none of us can read each others mind. I have had to learn to stand up for myself and ask a question that I have so that I can understand what is going on but maybe I have help some else out. Also by us asking questions helps us not to be so nervouse when we have a problem and don't understand something and having someone explain to us what they are talking about and what is going on. Will help boost our confidence there are different times when asking a question would be nerver racking and your not sure if the time is right to ask it but hey it dose not hurt to ask the question as long as it at an okay time and stuff.

(Blog #4) Negative Capability

The picture is an old fashion picture, It's a black and white picture, four men are wearing hats, two men are overalls, there is a grocey store, there is a tire, one man is wearing nice clothes, one man is holding a shovel, two men are not wearing socks,there is an old time gas pump. The three main things that stand out to me first the five men because of the way they stand and also the men are wearing different clothes. The second things that stands out to me is the tire on the vechile stands out to me because it's a really white color where as the other white color's in the picture's don't jump out at me as the white tire does. The third thing is the gas fuel pump because you see bricks on both side of the picture then you have this black gas fuel pump in the middle. There is five men standing outside of the grocey store. Also it looks like the five men are relaxing outside the grocey store. One of the men are sitting on the bar stool and holding a shovel. Two of the men are baseball players and it looks like one of the baseball players are holding a Cocoal bottle. Another man looks like he is holding his hat in his head unstead of wearing it on his head. The vechile looks like like it is a ford truck with black and white tires.

(Blog #3) Shitty First Drafts

1. I think that Lamott is saying when she refers to "The fantasy of the uninitatiated" in paragraph 1 is that people think that it is so easy for writters to come up with ideas and start writing them down on paper. But that is not true it can take a write from a couple days to a couple of years to to write a book. Also I think that some people think that writers don't have to stress about when they are going to get there book due and that they have all this free time to write there ideas for there book that they are going to be publishing someday. Some people think that writers have to worry about making money because they are rich but if they are having a hard time writing a book and it take them longer than it could hurt them but people don't think about that.

2. I think that in pararagraph 7 that Lamott is refers to her own experinces on how she writes her drafts due to writing for such a long time. She nows has a method on how to write her first draft and then what she does before writting her second draft.  Also when she says she does more or less. It means that she freaks out more than less.

3.I don't agree but other may agrees may agree with Lamott that there first draft is a product but when I do my first draft it is usally a proccess. Then my second draft is usually is the product because I have gotten my process all done and now what I am going to say and stuff.
       

(Blog #2) The Price of Reading

There are many great points in the Article. I know that when I'm reading a book that I have to be interseted in the book or I will not read the book and I know that there are other people who are the same way. I know that if I have read a book over and over I can start to see the misspelled words and then I have to read the misspelled word until I can figure out what the author meet to spell. In some of the books that I have read I don't agree with the other killing good people off in there book. It makes me so irrated and i would like to ask the author why they kill that character off. I think that it is a good idea to share our thought about what we read it can help us understand what the author is saying and what we want to get out of the book.

(Blog #1) A memorable experience that I have had in an educational setting.

A memorable experience that I have had in an educational setting is when I was in 10th grade. I had a English teacher that loved to read books. When I came to her class she had a huge book self of books that we could read. I didn't know that she would make us read and write down what book we read and a description of it. I told her that i hate to read and have always and that every English teacher i have had could never get me to read the only books I would read are picture books and i would read them over and over. But that all changed when she told me she thought that she had a book that i might like. So I said I would try and read it. Once I started reading it I could not put the book down it. I had never had a teacher give me a book before that had caught my attention and this book was so addicting to read. I found out after reading the whole book that it was a series. I have now finished the whole series and can say that I absolutely love to read. Thanks my high school English teacher who took her time to find something for me to read that she thought that I would enjoy.
